What is the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?

Launched in November 2024

A federal program designed to help uninsured Canadians with low to moderate income (under $90,000 CAD) access essential dental care — including removable dentures.

What Denture Services Are Covered?

Complete Standard Dentures
Transitional (Provisional) Dentures
Partial Dentures (acrylic or metal)
Immediate Dentures & Overdentures ( Preauthorization required)
Repairs, Relines, Rebases, Tissue Conditioning ( No preauthorization)
Denture Labelling ( Preauthorization required)

Note: Only removable dentures are covered — implant-supported dentures are not included.

What Is Not Covered?

Implant-supported dentures
Fixed prosthodontics (e.g., bridges)
Cosmetic treatments (whitening, veneers)
Bruxism splints, sport mouthguards
Any treatment from non-participating providers

How Much Will It Cost Me?

Coverage depends on your Adjusted Family Net Income:

Extra Charges: Denturists/dentists may bill above the CDCP fee guide. You are responsible for the difference.

How to Apply & Get Denture Coverage

1. Check Eligibility:
     Canadian resident
     No private dental insurance
     Filed a tax return
     Income under $90,000 CAD

2. Apply Online:
    Via the Government of Canada website

3. Visit a Provider:
    Choose a participating dentist or denturist

4. Preauthorization (If Required):
    Your provider submits forms, X-rays, and treatment plan

5. Get Treated:
    You pay only the co-pay and any extra provider fees
