Name in Denture: Denture Labelling in Guelph

Lost or mixed-up dentures are a common problem in long-term care homes and hospitals. We can permanently insert your name, or your loved one's name, inside the denture so it always finds its way back. Call (226) 898-3848.

What Is Denture Name Labelling?

Denture name labelling (also called name in denture or denture name insertion) places a small, clear label with the owner's name inside the acrylic of the denture. The label is sealed in, so it does not wash off, does not touch your gums and does not change how your denture fits or looks when you smile.

Who Needs a Name in Their Denture?

  • Residents of long-term care and retirement homes, where dentures are often cleaned together and can be mixed up.
  • Patients going into hospital, where dentures are removed for procedures.
  • People living with dementia, who may misplace their denture.
  • Anyone who wants peace of mind: a lost denture is expensive and stressful to replace.
For families and care home staff: many care facilities recommend or require labelled dentures. A labelled denture can be identified and returned to its owner right away.

How Denture Name Insertion Works

Drop off the denture

Bring the denture to our Guelph clinic, or a family member can bring it for you.

Label is inserted

We prepare a small area inside the denture and seal the name label in clear acrylic.

Polish & check

The surface is polished smooth, so the fit and comfort stay the same.

Pick up

Ask us how long the labelling will take when you book.

Getting New Dentures? Add Your Name at No Extra Visit

If you are getting new complete dentures or partial dentures, just ask: we can include your name while your denture is being made. It is also a good moment to do it when your denture comes in for a reline or repair.

Name in Denture: Frequently Asked Questions

Will the name label change how my denture feels?

No. The label is sealed inside the acrylic and polished smooth, so it does not touch your gums or change the fit.

Does the patient need to come to the clinic?

Not always. A family member or care home staff can drop off the denture. Call us to arrange it.

Can you label an old denture?

Yes. Most existing acrylic dentures can be labelled. We check the denture first.

Can the name be added to new dentures?

Yes. Ask us when you order your new denture and we will include the label while it is being made.

Is denture labelling covered by the CDCP?

Yes. The Canadian Dental Care Plan covers denture labelling with preauthorization. We prepare the request for you.
